Brendan Dunnigan, AIA, LEEDAP

Brendan Dunnigan is a founding Partner of Dunnigan Sprinkle. Prior to Dunnigan Sprinkle, Brendan founded the office of HKS Architects in San Francisco, where he had the pleasure of collaborating with Tom Sprinkle as a shareholder principal for ten years on multiple mixed-use projects of varying scales and complexities. In total, Brendan worked with HKS for twenty-two years. The first five years were at HKS Los Angeles where he directed multiple high-rise commercial projects in San Francisco. While living in Los Angeles, Brendan was recruited by a boutique architectural firm in San Francisco, TannerHecht, to be a project manager for the ICON in San Diego, the largest project undertaken by the firm. Brendan accepted and moved his family from LA to San Francisco. Two years later HKS approached Brendan to return and establish the San Francisco office in 2006.
Brendan has experience working in residential, hotel, office, interiors, sports, healthcare, master planning, in roles from job captain, project architect, construction administrator, project manager, principal in charge, for small, medium, and exceptionally large complex projects domestically and abroad.
Brendan has been married to his wife Susanne for twenty-two years. They have raised two sons in San Francisco. One has moved to Southern California for College and the other is in High School. Brendan is an avid golfer and spends time with his family and dog hiking throughout San Francisco and the Presidio.
Brendan is an Eagle Scout. He is an active participant and leader with his son’s scout troop, Troop 14, where he served as Treasurer and Parent Committee Chair. Brendan is a member St. John’s Presbyterian Church. His involvement with professional organizations includes Bay Area Council, SPUR, ULI and the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition. Brendan has also served as advisor to The Lisa Movement, Geopogo and serves on the building advisory committee of the nonprofit, The San Francisco Hearing and Speech Center.
Thomas E. Sprinkle, AIA

Mr. Sprinkle is a founding Partner of Dunnigan Sprinkle. He has more than 30 years of professional experience as an Architect in the San Francisco Bay Area and has managed and designed a wide variety of residential, mixed use and hospitality projects that range in scale, complexity and location. He has worked throughout the United States and abroad through all phases of architectural design, from concept development to design development, to preparation of construction documents, and construction support. Mr. Sprinkle has developed a management style that is effective and collaborative, and well appreciated by clients, regulatory agencies, consultants and in-house staff.
Tom started his college career majoring in Engineering, with a heavy emphasis on math and science. However, he soon found himself taking art classes; sculpture, life drawing, fine arts; and painting soon became a major focus of his curriculum. Drawn to the creativity he experienced in the art program, but still stimulated by math and science, he embarked upon a career in architecture. What excites Tom about design is the process itself. The dynamics of the team approach to design, being around creative people and leading the efforts to blend diverse viewpoints and backgrounds into unique and cohesive ideas is the focus of his day.
Tom graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University, and lives in San Francisco with his wife and three children. Tom is engaged in the local community through professional and personal ties built over his 30 years as a resident of San Francisco. Gardening, cooking and riding his motorcycle round out his free time.
