This proposed hotel is on a signature site in downtown Hermosa Beach; on the Strand at Pier Avenue. The design aims to see Hermosa Beach with fresh eyes; to analyze and understand its values; to distill and synthesize its character; and then to re-create its essence through built form reflective of its origins – all with a typically Hermosan “fun is good” spirit. The program for this 27,000sf site consists of 120 guest rooms, 15,000sf of restaurant and retail space, a pool deck, spa and fitness. The project targets 100% active uses at the ground floor to take advantage of its “Main and Main” location and the surrounding vigorous pedestrian environment
